Absolutely phenomenal drinks and service. The owner served us and made us the most delicious drinks. I haven't traditionally been a huge fan of the drinks they gave us but the way they made them changed my mind and now I can never have them any other way. The old fashioned, espresso martini, and chocolate orange martini were so good. There was a gentleman selling plants and vinyls also who was super friendly and played great music. Definitely my new favorite place. Very clean, wonderful cozy environment and the owner was a blast to be around.

Wonderful venue. Beautiful interior. Live music, dance lessons, two for one happy hour from 3 pm to 6 pm. They have an open jam night and feature many local and regional musicians. Music sounds great, and the acoustics are outstanding. Food available. Charcuterie plates and rich desserts. Check this place out. It is stunning and gorgeous and an all-around great venue.

An amazing find. The Cider walk brought me here, and the craft deliciousness had me take a seat. I usually stick with an Old Fashion if I’m going to have a hard beverage, though an Apple Cider Daiquiri, special to the walk, will earn a second drink. I am by no means a drink connoisseur though if you’re also just happy to try something delicious, this is a place to do it. I probably won’t be back often, though The Ideal is a place I will remember and suggest. Cheers mate!

This old converted theater is an amazing music venue! I came on open mic night, and was able to jam with the house band who were all amazing musicians! I would definitely recommend checking out this place for food and drinks as well. If you are in the Cedar Rapids area this is a place you must visit!

Very limited food. Charcuterie board of different sizes, local cheesecake, warm nut mix and that about it. The sound in here for live music is OUTSTANDING! Such a good mix throughout the room.

Ideal Theater & Bar hosted our holiday party and I could not be more impressed with the staff and venue. Casey Klein was excellent, incredible freestyling the announcements and playing awesome jams. If you are searching for a place to host a party, check them out!

Amazing music venue with genuine staff! The Ideal provided excellent drinks accompanied by a warm, melody driven environment. Dropped in, by chance, to discover Molly Nova & The Hawks were playing. WOW, was I lucky.... The night inspired me to return for Open Mic (Sunday).... Thank you, Kenyon, for providing the music and environment to bring regulars and newcomers together. I am now signing myself up to ne apart of ‘The Ideal Family’! See you soon!!!!!

Have had nothing but wonderful experiences at Ideal. Their cocktails are all delicious and the atmosphere is unparalleled. Lexi was my bartender and absolutely killed it. Also only place I know in town to get mix and match with happy hour! Will be coming back many more times in the future, and I encourage all to do the same.
